For some reason I am really struggling with my closet. We switched out summer clothes for fall and now I am having a hard time pairing things together for outfits. I think my closet is too hodge podge and that I need to do a serious overhaul. Even us fashion bloggers have issues with wardrobe! Slightly embarrassing story, my sisters and I were going to an event at a new friends house and we each tried on like 4 outfits. (facepalm) Nothing was going together and we didn’t want to go too dressed up, but we also didn’t want to show up in jeans and sweatshirts. Like I said, stuff just isn’t matching. So that being said, I have been turning to my trusty tunics and jeans lately. It is a little too warm for the fully layered skirt with leggings that’s my go-to in the winter, and it is too cold to wear a skirt without leggings. Not to mention, the weather in Michigan can’t seem to make up it’s mind if it wants to be cold or warm. So I am finding that I am more often wearing outfits like this to feel comfortable. I wore nearly this identical outfit this summer here.
I am in LOVE with this denim vest!!! I have been really wanting some distressed denim for a while now. I have loved these options below.

1. Cato Fashions 2 and 3. BeecherProch Apparel
They are just so fun, unique and artistic. But when we were at Cato’s, I was browsing through their clearance (Pretty much the only place I shop when we are there) and there was ONE distressed denim vest IN MY SIZE!!!! I snatched it immediately and got so excited as I tried it on. I have wanted one for years ever since my Mama got one for herself. I admired it and had wished at the time that I could afford to buy my own. No such luck until that moment! Does God really care about a girl’s desire for a distressed denim item to add to her wardrobe? I believe so, but whether or not that was the case, it felt like it was meant to be and it felt like a special little gift from my loving Father. I found such joy in such a little thing!
I don’t mean to make this too preachy, but I think that is so important. Finding joy in the little things. Choosing to look for things to be thankful for and to enjoy. We are bombarded with such crazy and depressing stuff all the time in this sinful world, it is so important to keep our focus on the things that remind us of God and His love for us. Without that, our joy is gone and the enemy is just waiting for us to drop our guard so he can suck the zest of life right out of us. Choose Joy, Look for things to be thankful for, even if they may seem insignificant.
I’ll get off my soap box for the day. Smile Anyway, so this outfit makes me smile whenever I wear it! I didn’t even mention the boots! Another blessing from the Lord were these booties. I had wanted a pair for the last few years and procrastinated finding them since shoes are so expensive and it was hard to find what I wanted in my price range. There are SO many options. . . but a dear friend went through her closet and was getting rid of stuff and these happened to be in the bag for us to go through. They were everything I had wanted without me really realizing that was what I wanted. And they were free to me. I felt so blessed and every time I wear them, I am so thankful and get giddy over it all over again!
