This book tugged on my heart strings! Highly recommend!
When I saw that this book was up for review, the cover first caught my attention. There was something lovely and fresh about it. This type of book (aka, Contemporary Romance) really isn’t my usual pick, but it struck me as a unique story.
When I read the synopsis and saw that it featured a story about adoption, especially from the perspective of a single woman, I knew I had to read it. I was hesitant because these books tend to be over the top in the romance department and there is a lot to be nervous about when it comes to adoption and foster care because it can so easily be done terribly.
From the perspective of a woman who has often said that if I’m still single in my thirties, I am going to get real serious praying about single adoption, I found this book a delightful, heart breaking and very real story that I adored.
I’ve never enjoyed a contemporary romance so much!
The characters were realistic. The MC wasn’t a saint and struggled with familial discord that was written so realistically, her pain made me squirm, it felt so real. Her decisions and the way that she painfully trusted the Lord through the process, learning from her mistakes and growing in her reliance on the Lord was a strongly written story with a clear heart for Truth.
The romance. I have a soap-box when it comes to romance. I get annoyed with the looks-over-brain aspect of so many contemporary romance and as someone who believes we are called as Christian writers to something higher than the sexual and physical aspect of romance, it disheartens me when that is the focus of Christian romance novels. Not so in this case. I was blessed and totally swept away by the story of two people who fell for each other as spirits, souls and bodies, instead of as mere physical shells. The characters were charming, their struggles so real, and their romance one of the sweetest I have ever read.
With charming, humorous story-telling, relatable characters that sweep you away on an emotional and heart-warming roller coaster, and a beautiful realistic view of adoption, this book will enchant you!
Five stars is not enough to describe how much I enjoyed this book.

Now I am interested to read this one. I am always looking for good quality Christian contemporary. I agree about so many Christian romance novels being poorly done and focusing too much on the physical. It drives me crazy sometimes. 🙂
Sounds like a great read.
