Miracle At The Higher Grounds Café
by Max Lucado with Candace Lee and Eric Newman
Here is what the back of the book says:
What if you could ask God anything? What would you ask? And how would He answer?
Chelsea Chambers is on her own. After a public split from her NFL superstar husband, Chelsea takes a bold step out of the limelight and behind the counter of the Higher Grounds Café, an old-fashioned coffee shop in dire need of reinvention. But when her courage, expert planning, and out-of-this-world cupcakes fail to pay the bills, this newly single mom finds herself desperate for help. Better yet, a miracle.
Then a curious stranger lands at Chelsea’s door, and with him, an even more curious string of events. Soon, customers are flocking to the Higher Grounds Café, and not just for the cupcakes and cappuccino. They’ve come for the internet connection to the divine. Now the café has become the go-to place for people in search of answers to life’s biggest questions.
When a catastrophe strikes and her ex comes calling, Chelsea begins to wonder if the whole universe is conspiring against her quest to make it on her own. After a shocking discovery opens her eyes to the unseen world around her, Chelsea finds the courage to ask God a question of her own. Heaven answers in a most unexpected way.
Set in a lovely downtown area of the authors’ home state, Texas, this is truly a delightful story of a woman who has lost her trust in God. And how God encourages her to get it back.
With Max Lucado’s insightful and beautifully poignant storytelling, this book truly is a joy to read. If you liked the movie, It’s a Wonderful Life, you will love this book.
Chelsea is struggling and so real. My heart broke for her and I wanted to scoop her up into a hug! Her two children are such fun and add that little bit of humor and joy that only little children can.
I loved this book. It was such a perfect book for summer. Relaxing, yet thought provoking and enjoyable at the same time. It encouraged me as a good book should. Even though we may not see it, and it may not play out exactly as the author portrayed, God does care for us individually and desires the best for us, His children. I found that my faith was strengthened after reading this little book. Spiritual warfare is very real but with God on our side, we can conquer the enemy.

I am fairly new to your blog but definitely find myself looking forward to it. You are a very creative young lady. I enjoyed the 4th thrift outfits. Maybe a simple craft would be an idea. I am writing all these books down just in case. Hugs
