Today will be a picture-full day! LOL! I had a lot going on this past week and looking at the calendar I have a very full week again! LOTS of things being worked on and accomplished! Whew! I have been thankful for Sunday and today to rest, recuperate, take a deep breath and catch up on emails and sleep!
Ok, so let me start off with introducing this lovely addition to my life!
Everyone, meet Donna!!! I have a dress form ya’ll! Oh my goodness! I have been dreaming for years of owning one. Waiting for the day that I could use it to further my dressmaking skills. The day has finally come and a dream come true. They were 50% off at Joann’s and I finally had enough money set aside that I could justify a purchase that large! I named her Donna after one of my favorite actresses from the black and white era of movies. Donna Reed. I have only seen her in It’s a Wonderful Life. There is a thing in our family that if you are going to name an item, the name has to start with the first letter of the item. So Dress form = Donna. It doesn’t always apply I guess because my cellos name is Hugh. I don’t know, just a weird quick about me! I’ll stop rambling now! I am just so thrilled I own a dress form!
Last week, I made a sale on Etsy and I love wrapping the purchasers item all pretty and including a handwritten note. I love creating the things I sell and I want others to be blessed when they receive them. I absolutely love this pretty tissue paper I found! Swoon!
Wallet Preparations going on here! I cranked out 7 more to replenish my stock because we had an art show on Saturday! It went so well!
My sweet sister Sarah Grace has her own Etsy shop and little business! She is a very talented watercolor artist, all self taught and she creates beautiful things! You can check out her Etsy shop here!
I love drawing dresses so we like to do the dress art work together! I draw, and she paints. They turned out so cute if I do say so myself! This is after I draw them. . .
And this is after Sarah Grace works her magic.
Pillows Galore!!!!! These will be hitting the Etsy shop this week Lord willing!
Working on a Sun dress! Fifties inspired of course! My favorite style. This one is for my sister to share!
I add pockets to the pattern. Pockets just automatically make any dress that much cooler! I don’t know what it is, but I love a sundress with pockets!
Pinning the skirt to the bodice! Yes, I am sitting on the floor. I don’t know what it is, probably because my feet almost never reach the floor when sitting on the couch or a chair, I have just always sat on the floor cross legged when I create things.
Using my dress form to pin up the shoulder straps.
Sundress no. 2!!! This one turned out so gorgeous! The print was something I had been dreaming of for a long time and I am absolutely thrilled with how gorgeous it is!
The day before the show, (which would be Friday because the show was on Saturday) We set up a mock up of the booth space to make sure we had everything we needed and it looked the way we wanted it to in order to streamline the set up the next day.
The booth turned out beautiful! Here are the pictures of our set up at the show. It was such a lovely day and thanks to the large trees around, we were in the shade most of the day so we did not roast.
My sisters watercolor display! Swoon! her things turned out gorgeous!!!
I sold a TON of headbands! Good heavens, apparently these are really popular!!!
I love seeing all of those bags!!!
We had a really good day! Like I said, it was beautiful weather and the show was just a nice, well put together show. I would definitely do it again! It was set in a park in a little downtown area of Holland Michigan and it was so pretty. You could meander along the cobblestone sidewalks and enjoy the artists, or you could have a picnic in the shade of some of the beautiful trees that cooled the grassy areas. Just so nice! We wore the dresses I had made and I had a sign advertising custom made dresses in my booth. I cannot even tell you how many compliments we got on the dresses. Not many people dress like we do and I think that made us stand out a bit, but all the ladies who stopped in loved it! I may be getting a few custom orders of dresses Lord willing, which would be awesome! I will post pictures of the finished dresses soon!
What have you been busy with?
Do you name things you own?

Everything looks just so lovely! Reading Proverbs 31 this morning, and seeing it come to life in the lives of you and your sisters is a privilege. I am blessed to call you “friend”.
Aww. . . Oh my goodness! Thank you Cindy! Feeling so blessed by your comment today!
A dress form is a wonderful thing to have, as you can drape things as you go along and see how they look! Those two dresses you are making look wonderful. I have a soft spot for floral.
