Things have been crazy this week! I had a lovely outfit post planned for you, but ran out of time, (and more importantly, brain power) so I thought I would show you what has been going on lately! I have several projects in the works and a pretty tight deadline, so that is why I have been scarce here lately.
First SNOW! EEK! I love snow so much and am glad it is finally here! It has all melted since these pictures were taken a few days ago because the ground isn’t frozen yet, but tomorrow, we are scheduled to get our first winter storm! YIPEE! I am so excited!
Seriously though, this amount of snow happened in, like, a few hours, courtesy of the lake. Lake effect snow is the bomb people!
After a long time at Joann’s with 4 people trying to decide, we finally came up with these fabric combinations for party dresses for my sisters and myself. I am so excited to show you when they are all done! Mine actually changed and I am going to get the fabric tomorrow. I worked today and yesterday on the girls’s and they are turning out so pretty! And the best part is that they love them! I have to have them done by Saturday, so, yeah. I am working on them as much as possible! I am in a good place though and I am confident they will be done in time.
The tulle is so pretty and has little sparkles on it. I am using it as an overlay over the colored cotton.
Cutting pattern pieces of tulle or any kind of sheer is kind of a pain, but it wasn’t too bad.
My black Friday order of Girl Charlee knits came and I am so excited to delve into them! New headbands should be hitting the Etsy shop in time for Christmas! Lord willing. Also, some mug decorating attempts. More on that later, once I figure out how to do it successfully.
My work outfit! Super comfy and great for rolling all over the floor to cut bolts of fabric. My favorite colors lately have been Olive and Cranberry. I paired this olive tunic with a Cranberry Sweater that isn’t pictured. I was too warm from all that cutting.
I got this necklace during a black Friday deal at Charming Charlie’s. I was so happy when it came in the mail. I got it because, I have a love for arrows and archery, but also because it reminds me of the necklace that Natasha wears in Captain America: Winter Soldier that Hawkeye gave her. They happen to be two of my favorite characters, so it is my little fan necklace.
I am cutting extra tulle for the skirt so that it is extra gathered!
A sneak peak! I am so excited to do an outfit post with all the finished party dresses! This is totally taking the Patsy Jean dress to another Level of gorgeousness! They turned out even better than I thought they would!
My Party Outfit. We have Thanksgiving as a Family a week or so after the real deal, because we are all running different directions and tired because of extended family parties. So our immediate family had ours today and it was wonderful! Loud in our little house, but wonderful.
I am in love with this new sweater that I got from Cato’s! It has glitter in it! Which just makes everything so much awesomer! (I know that is not a word.)
I have also slowly but surely been reading Beth Moore’s The Undoing of Saint Silvanus. OH MY WORD! It is so good and I can’t wait to finish it, but at the same time, I want it to last forever.
Once last thing. Would any of you be interested in Christmas posts of any kind? Would you like to see some affordable gift guides? Or maybe a handmade gift guide? Let me know in the comments! I would love to hear your thoughts!
What have you been busy with? Which of the things I mentioned are you most excited to see more about?
By God’s Grace,
Victoria
I can not wait to see the dresses when they are done.
Marilyn
Thanks Marilyn!
I can’t wait to see the dresses when there done. And I would love christmas posts, especially the homeade gift guide. Your so lucky you get snow. We get to snow like every 4 years, and only for a few days. It hasn’t snowed here in a few years, so I hope this is the year. They say it’s supposed to snow tomorrow. I really hope so. God bless.
I am definitely thinking of doing Christmas posts! Thanks Torri! WOW! no snow? That is crazy to this northern girl. I will pray it snows for you! God bless!
BEAUTIFUL dresses. You young lady are so talented. I would love to see Christmas posts. Have a great day. Hugs to you
Awww. . . Thank you so much Trisha! Hugs right back!
Oh my goodness, that snow! If I had that kind of snow, I would probably just forget my outdoor outfit pics forever lol! I’m so cold-natured. I would like to see maybe some Christmas outfits!
LOL! Yeah, it is pretty chilly up here. (which might be an understatement.) 🙂 I just wear a coat and brave the chill for a few minutes before me and my photographer run into the house with our noses red and shivering like crazy! I would love to do some Christmas outfits! Thanks for the idea Elizabeth!
