This was the series that introduced me to this author and to say that I was obsessed is an understatement. With sibling relationships and the series following a group of adopted brothers and sisters, hero’s and heroines that are musicians, creatives, authors and spies as well as the rumblings of world war one coupled with my favorite time period in history to explore, these books are GEMS and will hold your interest with the page turning plot as well as the unique and fascinating take on the beginnings of world war one! Can’t recommend enough and these have the sweetest romance that doesn’t overwhelm the storyline or take away from the heart pounding plots!
This series builds on the last one and I highly recommend reading them in order. This series follows the code breakers during World War 1 and their escapades, heart stories, and sorrows and triumphs. Each book centers around a different set of characters, but what all ties them together is their work in the British intelligence of WW1. Books I have and will re-read which I think says a lot about the power of these stories!
The Secrets of the Isles series might be my favorite of all! If you love tropes with large friend groups and the banter and escapades they find themselves in, combined with treasure hunting, pirates and the history of british maritime happenings, then this series is sure to delight! I recommend these books as good examples of how to handle storylines that involve abuse or SA in historical time-periods because they are handled in such a biblical, delicate, and tasteful manner!
The reason I put this stand alone next is because it has a special treat for all those who have read the rest of Roseanna’s books. You’ll find easter eggs of every single one of her previous series in this book amongst a nail-biting dual-timeline of WW1 and WW2. LOVED IT!
This book is one that had me staying up super late to finish. I can’t remember being this surprised by a plot twist in forever so it will have you on the edge of your seat! It’s a dual-timeline historical with a time-traveling twist! The main character lives two different timelines until their 21st birthday when they must decide which one to stay in forever. Set in the rumblings of the revolutionary war and WW1, this book is sure to delight! I found the themes of this story especially encouraging in my Christian walk.
content: does handle a behind closed doors abusive marriage. Handled tastefully imo, but be aware if you are sensitive to this.
This book was BEAUTIFULLY told! Follows the story of a dancer in Paris and her mishap as she falls into spying for the united forces and the second pov of a single father who owns a motorcar factory in Paris that is taken over by the Germans during the occupation.
Highly recommend for those wanting a unique and beautiful story set in Paris during the German Occupation of WW2.
Another WW2 novel set amidst the backdrop of Italy. This dual pov of a young woman in modern America uncovering her unlikely family history and how it is tied together with a famous woman who is nearing the end of her life in Italy and her grandson as she takes a spontaneous journey to deliver the old suitcase that was found in their attic at home to it’s former owners. This one had me crying and smiling but leaving with a heart ful and encouraged.
THIS BOOK. I loved the unique and different perspective of the war between the states, the backdrop of the maritime exploits of America during the time and the long-distance romance as well as the suspense of danger and intrigue kept me turning pages. I also loved the subtle nod to prophetic dreams that this book had and the faith content did not disapoint!
