This series is from back in the hey day of my first discovering Christian Fiction as a teen. I remember LOVING this series of a pioneer, immigrant woman who left her country of Norway and settled in a western frontier. If you are a Little House on the Prairie fan or even just love that vibe, you will love these. I read these when most people were reading Love Comes Softly and I personally prefer these stories!
This next series is the follow-up to the previous! About Ingeborg’s son. Their family has worked hard and conquered the land in the west and as the next generation is growing up, it’s time to follow their dreams and explore their gifts now that the fight for survival has subsided. This series is one I loved and the romance is sweet and subtle and the characters mature. I literally camped out in Lauraine Snelling books for most of my teen years.
ABSOLUTELY LOVED THIS SERIES! It follows a set of siblings in high Washington society in the 1900’s. The Spice King is my favorite of the entire series and is possibly my favorite use and execution of the enemies to lovers trope. The Delacroix family own one of the most lucrative spice companies in the states and are fighting a corporate battle with the newly created FDA to make sure that an enemy company doesn’t steal their proprietary blend OR poison the whole of the United States with their food. Book two is about his sister who serves the First Lady in the Whitehouse and book three is about the younger brother who might be in more trouble than anyone realized. HIGHLY RECCOMEND!
This series is SOLELY responsible for me taking a vacation in Charleston, South Carolina a few years ago. The first book, The Dress Shop on King Street delighted this seamstress heart, but I absolutely LOVED the subject matter and discovery of the historical elements of Charleston as well as the dual POV of a contemporary AND historical main character. I have yet to read book 3 from my massive TBR, but books one and two were delightful, heart warming and I highly recommend them! Plus, the covers are STUNNING. Just saying.
If you love sea-faring tales, then this is IT. I like to say that this book gives of the vibes of three of my favorite movies, Master and Commander, Sherlock Holmes and Amazing Grace. Also, there is just something about romances written by guys. LOL! This one is so subtle and back seat, but heartwarming and romantic! The story had me on the edge of my seat and I actually learned a ton which is always a fun part about historical books. 5 glowing stars for this one and it made it onto my re-read pile. Which is a high honor.
Under the Tulip tree was such a stunning work of historical literature! With a subtle romance on the back burner the entire time, it’s the story of a young woman who is tasked with a journalism project of interviewing people that survived the civil war for the purpose of highlighting their stories. The old woman that she meets and the ways their lives intertwine, as well as her story as she followed the army through the battles it faced in Franklin and Nashville TN was such a beautiful and heartwarming tale. Definitely has some war wounds etc. and racism themes that may be a lot for younger readers.
This long distance romance was SO GOOD! I’ll let the synopsis speak for itself.

So intriguing and kept me turning pages! It was fascinating learning about Russia during this time period!
