The Lost Rose is officially out in the world, ready for sale, and ready for your shelf!

I've been a bit of a weepy mess the last few days.

I've felt the themes for this book be something I've had to cling to even more than normal over the last month. Recognizing that each book I write is always for such a time as this always leaves me in awe.

Once I Knew was about courage in the face of fear and of standing for what is right, no matter what other's think or say and no matter the dangers presented to oneself. It's a journey of finding strength in Christ in the face of fear and anxiety. It came out during a season where I experienced the most corporate anxiety in the world in my lifetime.

This Life of Mine was about the value of life in an era where it is diminished and taken advantage of at every turn. It came out during a season where trafficking skyrocketed and shortly after a law against life in the womb was abolished and removed from the highest court in the land.

The Lost Rose is about hope. About the white-knuckled grip of it in the face of anything and everyone trying to tear it away. It's about the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen. It's about fixing our eyes on Him and holding onto the Hope that Christ gives even as the storm and discouragement swirls around us with epic, gale-force winds. It's coming out in a season where hope is what we desperately need.

My prayer is that this story blesses you. But more than that, I pray it draws you close to the One who meets all our needs, keeps us safe, holds us close, and is the source of the Hope of the World. I pray your heart is lifted, that you see Him glorified, and that this story whispers truth and hope to your heart when you need it most.

This book is no longer mine, it's yours. To God be the glory. Always and forever, for my King.

It's almost time. One more day.

My brain has been so full of other things... life is going a little crazy at the moment but I feel like the Lord has taught me a massive lesson in PATIENCE with myself, with life, and with the process these past few months.

Nothing has really gone as planned, but I've seen so much growth in myself in the way that I've been able to just roll with the punches and take it one day at a time, one task at a time, and one deep breath at a time.

This book is coming out tomorrow. It's been mine for 14+ years. It's been my journey to walk, to turn to, and to experience.

But there is something so special about turning a book loose to readers and I've never really felt scared by that moment.

Because I trust that the Lord has a purpose in my writing. It's something He's called me to and He is so intimately involved in every part of the process. Our pact is that if just one person is touched and blessed by this story, it's already a success.

So everything else no longer matters. All fear and anxiety goes out the window. Yes, I want it to do well. Yes, I want people to like it, but those are all superseded by the fact that I surrender it to the Lord and trust Him to do what He wills with it.

So after keeping this story to myself for nearly half my life... I'm so excited to finally release it into the wild tomorrow. I'm excited to give it the ultimate surrender and release it from it's prison once and for all.

I pray it blesses you and in just one day more... this book will be yours.

Meet Malcolm

Best friend and first knight to the king, Malcolm's seen a lot. He carries the world on his shoulders for the sake of his brotherhood with Elgon and will do just about anything to serve him to the best of his ability.

Carrying the weight of a mistake that has haunted him for years, Malcolm is the one who will set all of his fears and his failures behind to put his life on the line to make the mission of rescue happen.

He's the only one Elgon fully trusts to rescue his missing daughter and his stern and somber exterior belies a heart he's denied the ability to love.

Malcolm was the hero of my 13 year old brain and watching him become something completely different and better and deeper in the character department was an absolute blast.

His was the voice in the story that seemed to come the easiest to me as I wrote. I knew this man and I knew what made him tick. His hopes and dreams that had been superseded by his fears and failures was something that I felt comfortable in because I knew him so well.

His story encouragement me so much that your past does not have to define you and that allowing it to do so is a disservice to the King who wrote your story.

I hope you love getting to know him and enjoy the start of his arc as there is even more to come in the next book. Figuring out how he fits into the overall plot of the rest of the books makes me so excited and it's going to be a wild ride!

Meet Rosalie

This dynamite of a fourteen year old was conditioned to lose all hope and fear the world.

But instead, she meets it with wide eyes, an open heart, and a curiosity and delight in every new thing she sees that changes and marks the people she meets along her journey.

Lonely and alone, her heart is bursting to trust, to love, to find hope in the harshest of places. Her life as a captive has created a young woman, perfectly primed to experience a grace and humility that befits royalty and does her parents proud.

Her journey is one I had so much fun writing. She is a comfort, nostalgia filled character for me and learning who she truly is and seeing the world through her eyes was something that despite being 14 years in the making, felt new and fresh and exciting.

Her life is an ode to the beauty of finding peace from within where the Holy Spirit dwells. It's an example of how hope can grow in the harshest of places and blossom into full maturity when the time is right. She's a character that I resonate with so much. One who lived certain horrors with a heart open, hands extended, constantly willing to see the good and light in others, no matter how much pain they cause.

She became the heart of Christ to those around her even with what some would call little to no opportunity and was a tiny bud of potential greatness as she wasted away in a castle tower.

The Rapunzel vibes are strong with this one and I hope you love getting to meet her as much as I did. I pray her story is one of hope to you and that you experience the rescue and love of the True King as you discover the way He's pursued and loved you every single minute of your life.

I hope you know that no matter how lost you seem, you've never once been forgotten or unloved.

Rosalie is the character that's been with me the longest that I can remember. Despite dreaming her up when I was 12, I still feel as though I'm learning who she truly is moment by moment. Her growth and re-entering what it's like to think like a 14 year old was something that was so cathartic to me in this process.

And even as we set the stage for the next book, I still love that I'm learning who she is.

Elgon grew so much in The Lost Rose and watching him take center stage as the man the Lord called him to be sets my heart ablaze.

Seeing him become a husband and father, lead his nation with pride and sensitivity to the Spirit, and speak life to others even as his own heart is breaking made this book as special as it is. I can't wait for you to meet the King of Elira... in the fulness of His calling!
