Sorry I had to take a break from blogging for a while. Holidays were busy, then our whole family was hit with a nasty stomach bug virus. ugh! But now I am back and on the road to recovery! I have been planning lots of posts this past month or so, but never had the energy or time to implement them. So I figured I had better start somewhere! Last week before we all fell to the virus, I had a sewing day with my sisters! I had 2 skirts cut out already and 2 nightgowns waiting to be cut out. So we got working and we started sewing around 10:00 AM.
Sarah Grace sewed the side seams on the skirts while I worked on her nightgown.
The reason I have a silly grin on my face here is because I am seam ripping. ;( I didn’t re-look at the pattern before I started. I had decided not to go out into the cold garage for the pattern because I had made several nightgowns before. It was one of those things that you are like. . .”I can do this” but you can’t. {grin}
Sister Time!
Here are the finished products! I finished up the hems and elastic on the skirt the next day! So, pretty good for 2 days of work. I also have a nearly finished nightgown for my self in my work basket. I am still not feeling well enough to lug out my 50 lb. sewing machine yet!
So love when I am able to get a lot done! Knowing I no longer have three projects in my basket needing to be done is so nice.
Next on the docket to be done? I am going to sew a quilt from all of the scraps from peasant skirts over the years! I plan to do a star pattern in the middle of the quilt instead of the 6” squares I have done before. Delving into a little more complication in my quilt making!
It is 2015? Say WHAT?!!! Where did 2014 go?! I almost miss it! But on to new beginnings.
Also! Sarah Grace had painted up a storm and her Water color notecards are up for sale in the Ruffles and Grace Etsy shop! Click on the link to go check them out!
